TREK gives neuro-divergent youth the opportunity to partner with peer-mentors and executive functioning coaches, to learn the skills needed to confidently access their community and demonstrate independence while navigating activities of daily living.

This three-part program takes the community working together and includes TREK Adventurers, peer mentors and community partners.

Adventurers
In order to be involved in the community, neuro-diverse youth need skills to be able to navigate it successfully. Through the TREK program youth (6 grade+) will practice real-world education on social reciprocity, skills for emotional regulation, cognitive flexibility and building self-empowerment, all while learning to navigate their community.

High school Peer Mentors

This is a great opportunity for high school students to come along side their peers in a leadership capacity while earning volunteer hours.

Community Partners

As a community partner, you’ll be bridging the gap between community members and neuro-diverse youth. Inclusion clinics will be held for community leaders, business owners and staff that will teach: environmental considerations to support individuals with disabilities beyond physical barriers such as ADA ramps, doors and restrooms. Our intention is that this program will create a wave of a new “reverse inclusion” standard in the community.
